We are not a perfect church, but we have discovered something worth sharing with you. The Victory Family has found that the old cliché, "The Family that prays together, stays together" is true. As we come together to worship God and learn from his Word, we develop a common bond. Fathers & mothers are strengthened in their commitment to God and to each other. New answers to family needs are revealed as God's word is taught.

Our goal is to strengthen the community socially, morally, spiritually and economically through the power that God invested in us. We declare that each member will “Walk Victoriously” in the destiny that God has for each of us. We are a working, witnessing and worshipping church (Acts 2: 41-47) that believes in putting our trust in our risen Lord, Jesus Christ.

It is a pleasure to say that you too can share the blessing of God's people. "For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is your Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, YOU WILL BE SAVED" (Romans 10:9)

The Victory Baptist Church was organized in July of 1985 in the heart of East Oakland by our Pastor Emeritus, the Reverend Dr. Jewel R. Peters, who was influenced by a close relative, the legendary Dr. Arthur "Shep" Peters, pastor and founder of the Victory Baptist Church in Los Angeles, California. Though, the original Victory Baptist Church is traditional, God revealed to our Founder that he was t o start a church where it will erase the boundaries of dress code, age, economic and worship differences and focus on the most important factor of Christian growth and that is Jesus Christ being the center of it all as well as the art of working together to up build the kingdom.

We believe that ministry is infinite and with that said, the mantle was passed to the second generation pastor, Rev. Martin R. Peters who is currently transitioning the Victory Baptist Church into a 21st century church that is equipped to VICTORIOUSLY combat the struggles of the devil and achieve the next level of our lives.

The Victory Baptist Church believes in transitions and is currently making preparations to open a transitional home for men. Stay tuned, there is even more in the workings for this great church called THE VICTORY BAPTIST CHURCH
